Director of Environmental Services
Richard joined the DGA management team to head up its Environmental Services to identify and mitigate development and delivery risks within construction and infrastructure projects.
Richard has over 25 years’ experience in the assessment, management and compliance of environmental risks, as well as process engineering, scheme development and construction. His expertise covers full project lifecycle, from feasibility stage environmental assessment and surveys, through development to construction and the management of all environmental risk. Richard's sector experience includes transport and infrastructure, property and land development, engineering consulting and manufacturing. He has resourced, set up and led multi-disciplinary environmental teams on major infrastructure projects and has a determined approach on all projects under his management and leadership.
He started in contaminated land site assessment and has worked in all of the key environmental areas of air, land, water and waste. His background includes process engineering, specialising in environmental biotechnology processes, and has consulted on UK Government programmes (DTI's Biotechnology Means Business and BIOWISE).
Richard has a keen interest in sustainability and how the construction sector is transforming to meet future environmental, social and economic challenges.
He is based in the South West of England and enjoys long family walks along the local rivers, coastline and over Dartmoor National Park. He is also keen on live music of all kinds.
