John joined the DGA Group in mid-2019 having previously been the National Director for a global construction contract consultancy. John is dual qualified with both technical and legal disciplines as a Chartered Quantity Surveyor and having completed a Post Grad Diploma in Law.
In addition he has undertaken the Certificate in Arbitration course through the University of South Australia and has qualified and undertaken Adjudications and Mediations in relation to the resolution of construction disputes.
As a Chartered Quantity Surveyor John has acted as an expert witness in both arbitration and litigation cases in Australia and overseas and has provided expert reports with subsequent appearances at proceedings to provide evidence on matters of quantum.
During the past 15 years John has also presented over 300 seminars throughout Australia which have been attended by 16 of the top 20 construction / engineering organisations in each state / territory along with numerous government and principal clients.
In addition he is a regular guest lecturer for the Masters in Construction Law course at Melbourne University.
John is presently the Regional Director for the Melbourne office in Australia with responsibility for the development of the business in the region.
In his spare time John is both a keen golfer, road cyclist, runner and football player. Apart from the latter activities, John has 2 grown up children. A daughter completing her final years at school in Melbourne and a son in his early years at the Australian National University.
